Beartown
Summary
Review
If you read the blurb, you will think this book is about hockey. But it is actually about abuse and self-love. This book is the most beautiful book I have come across which talks about abuse with a young girl, by a young boy, and how our society views it. Majority blame the girl and few support her.
This is about the dynamics of a family and how only one person is enough to help us come out of the worst times in our lives.
This book is the most beautiful piece ever written about feelings and emotions of a girl after she is robbed of them! How she has to put up a smiling face in front of her parents so that they do not kill themselves and others, but cry herself to sleep hours later. This is about bravery- everyone’s, and this book is about anger and hate.
If you pick this book up, you are going to be yearning for its sequels.
